About me...
Design inspiration has been around me since I was a child, thanks to my parents. My mother studied fashion illustration and my father was a project manager for a variety of construction projects. Later, they both started their own businesses - landscaping and land surveying.
Although I was very focused on going to law school, my high school architecture teacher continually urged me to follow my creativity and pursue a career in design. He asked my parents to do the same, but they were supportive (as they still are) of whatever I wanted to do. After completing my Bachelor's Degree in English and working at a police department in Vermont, I decided practising law was not really for me. By a twist of fate, and a move to Boston, I ended up living three buildings over from an architecture school. Walking by the vibrant windows full of student projects on display, I was inspired to take a couple of summer classes. From that point, it was on! After a few years of school at Boston Architectural College, I transferred across the country. I completed my Master of Architecture degree in 2008 at the NewSchool of Architecture in San Diego.
Since graduation, I have worked diligently to contribute to and strengthen the firms I have worked for, as well as continually gain knowledge in design and construction and further my career. I became a licensed architect in Massachusetts in 2013. My next pursuit is to complete ARB qualifications so that I will be a qualified architect in the UK.
